Salesforce Lightning Migration

SWITCHING FROM THE OLDER VERSION OF SALESFORCE

Publish date:

The Salesforce Lightning platform is an enhanced version of Salesforce Classic that allows for the creation of apps in the easiest way possible with the least amount of botheration.  It is a merger of the Lightning app builder, Lightning Designing System (LDS), and Lightning Components that assist in inventing smart enterprise applications.  You do not need to import data, regenerate custom fields, or set up the security model when migrating from the classic to the lightning version. In this blog, we are examining the myriad benefits of this newer & improved version.

Listed below are the many benefits of switching from the older version of Salesforce (the classic version)
  • User-friendly design. All of us who use any tech tool for any purpose are always seeking comfort, convenience, and simplicity of use. This is exactly what you get when you upgrade to the lightning version from the older / classic version. It is smart and modern. All users get the same experience albeit the device you use – desktop, laptop, tablet, or cell phone.  The interface of this version keeps users happy because of two notable enhancements. First, the good features/functionalities of the cell phone experience are now accessible to desktop users in the collapsible navigation. Second, the Note’s “autosave” functionality and the rich-text capabilities provide users with a ‘ wow ‘ experience.

  • Customisable homepage to suit user needs.  Salesforce has designed the homepage of the lightning version to be as customisable as the user wishes it to be. The user can view the pending tasks and opportunities that have been marked plus opportunities in sales fields that can face impending roadblocks. Customisation aids in the display of data that the user uses or needs on priority etc.  This gives a boost to the user on their daily productivity.

  • Smarter views.  Unique Lightning views entail smarter analytics. It recalls which views are popular by each user and assists them in focusing on the important stuff.

  • More columns on the dashboards. Earlier it had only 3 columns displayed. Now on user demand, Salesforce has increased it to 4. Users can view open and closed sales amounts, as well as get info on closed opportunity date-wise.

  • Enhanced and more personalised user experience

  • Future-proofing investment into the Salesforce.com platform

  • Views that let users easily filter and visualize information

  • Improved user productivity

  • Attractive dashboards with flexible layouts

  • Improved user adoption

  • Increased Return On Investment from Salesforce investment

  • Efficient navigation and intelligent Home Page components

  • Kanban boards - A powerful way to visualize, work your pipeline as well as other information

  • Optimized and personalized interfaces focusing on what users can do instead of just the ability to view

Now isn’t that a dozen or more reasons to upgrade/go for the lightning version? Plus many features are being released for them only, which you will be deprived of if you stick to the classic version. So enjoy the fruits of the Lightning version and get more out of your investment. Cheers. Have a good day.
