In order to lower anxiety levels, we have compiled some top tips for those looking to join Salesforce Consulting Partners/Partner as a consultant.  Hope these tips are of help to you and anyone else you know.

Top Interview Tips for Salesforce Consultant Jobs are:

  • Talk about your prior experience (if any) with other CRM such as Pardot or Hubspot. So, if you have worked on these platforms then mention in your resume and talk about it during the interview. It helps the interviewer to know that they are not dealing with a novice.

  • Showcase your skills as a Salesforce Consultant while interviewing with Salesforce Consulting Partners/Partner. A consultant has a wider perspective as compared to an administrator etc. The technical skills of CRM is combined with business analytics and so on in this larger profile. Therefore, in the interview demonstrate your business analysis skills. As a consultant, you are expected to formulate plans and problem-solving.

  • Communicate clearly. As a consultant, one needs to be having clear, crisp verbal communication which needs to come out during the interview. Speak slowly, to the point, modulate your voice. Keep a glass of water handy to help you verbalise properly. Don’t use slang words or abbreviations.

  • Use less of jargon while speaking. Everyone knows you are applying for the post of a salesforce consultant, so there is no need to use technical jargon/lingo unless required. The interviewers are not impressed.  Give answers in a simple and clear way that does not leave anyone flummoxed or give the wrong impression that you won’t fit into the ethos of the company.

  • Be mindful of body language. Shake hands with all the interviewers. Keep your hands on the knees and try avoiding moving your hands when speaking. Keep a light smile on your lips and be respectful to all present. Appear humble and grounded at all times.

  • Dress well and formally. Make sure your hand is combed, facial hair groomed and a light deo / perfume sprayed. Clothes should be washed and freshly ironed. Men should wear polished closed toes shoes. Men need not wear neckties.

  • In order to rise in the Salesforce universe, try and get as many certifications as you can. The more the merrier. Your market value and salary level increases.  Certification in Salesforce = lucrative job options. Increase your demand in the market.

  • Give examples of how your intervention made a difference to customers. Interviewers are always keen to know what “value addition” or “extra” you bring to the table and why they should hire you. Real-life examples provide proof of your calibre.

  • It’s always good to give references – personal and professional if asked during the interviews. Background checks are always performed, so don’t get caught off – guard.
