TOP CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE A SALESFORCE IMPLEMENTATION

Publish date:

If you are joining the ranks of lakhs of companies, big and small, with Salesforce as their preferred CRM tool, then congrats and welcome to the new frontiers of excellence. For the project to be deployed as planned, we have listed some key considerations that need to be acted upon by the management.

Here are the Top Considerations before a Salesforce Implementation:
  1. Define your business goals that will be achieved with Salesforce implementation services. It could be anything. But the business and you should be clear. It could be efficiency, productivity, enhanced ROI, or being a tech-savvy firm. Once this is clear, everything will fall into place.

  2. Onboard all stakeholders / concerned teams from the very beginning at the thought stage. Project success of any magnitude or purpose can succeed once everyone related to or affected by it is on board. If there is any form of mental or physical disconnect among team members, it can lead to apathy. So, it’s important for the management to take everyone into confidence. Have an open two-way forum for the issue to be discussed. This should always be a top consideration.

  3. Assignment of roles of various team members or departments within a business. Everyone associated must be assigned a role. The primary role belongs to the project manager. Decision-makers need to be involved at all stages. Team leads represent different teams for the Salesforce Implementation Services project. And last but not least are the end users who will use the system and provide feedback.

  4. Fix a budget for the Salesforce Implementation Services project. It’s important to have an assigned budget for anything and everything. It applies here to when it comes to a tech project like Salesforce CRM implementation. This will help you to stay on the course and not overshoot the budget if tempted. The budget should be realistic and with some amount of flexibility. 10% extra cost should be factored into the project budget.

  5. Establish a schedule with doable timelines. With the goals of the project defined, timelines must be set in place to achieve the goals. Based on the levels of customization involved, delivery can be between 4 to 8 weeks or even more.  Here the availability of resources needed for the project needs to be factored out as well. The schedule can be broken up into small chunks of timelines with milestones.

  6. Select a Salesforce Implementation Services partner. With a project like a tech implementation, a professional vendor/partner needs to be used to ensure a smooth rollout while the core business goes on as business as usual. Selection can be a tough choice. There are some criteria for selection which we have listed in our previous blogs you can read from the archives.

  7. Communication and collaboration. It’s important to communicate with stakeholders at various steps of the project to ensure transparency and no silos. This has to be an important consideration as well.
