SALESFORCE UPDATE: REINTRODUCTION OF DATA RECOVERY SERVICE
Breaking news update from Salesforce.com. They have changed their stance and policy on retiring the data recovery service. Mid last year they had taken a decision to retire it. Well good news for all of us. For those not familiar with it, Data Recovery is a service useful in the unimaginable scene of complete data loss. If you’ve completed a data loading exercise or made some config changes that have gone “south”, and there is no backup, the Data Recovery Service was the last refuge for many of us and businesses. This service is valued at USD 10000 and its duration for recovery of data and metadata takes about 6 – 8 weeks (up to 2 months in other terms).
They also plan to “pilot Salesforce backup and restore services built natively on the platform this summer.” This decision is a strategic move as an up sell tool for existing clients, as everyone is concerned about the loss of valuable data, and data is king. Mr. RS Maan, Codleo’s Global CRO says “With so much emphasis on data and protecting it from loss, this is a welcome move by Salesforce and will reassure consumers of their data remaining secure at all times”.
