Best practices for Data Cleansing

DO YOU KNOW THESE DATA CLEANSING PRACTICES?

Publish date:

We are living in the age of data. All of us who use any electronic device are creating data as much as 2 MB per second. This is as per the survey and tantamount to a High definition image per second. I bet you did not know this. In today’s tech world, the amount of data being sent or received is humongous. This is especially true of companies thanks to social media and whatnot. If best practices are not employed by a business, this data can be a nuisance. It's disorganized and outdated. Data in companies as we keep saying is only good if it's clean & accurate.

If you want your data to count for you and your company, here are some best practices as per Salesforce consulting partners
  1. Audit & validate consistently. Imagine your data warehouse is a digital version of your company’s storeroom or warehouse or even a kitchen pantry/supply room. They are cleaned and inventory is updated regularly. Right? All we are saying here is to take this forward to your data warehouse. It’s important that a person/team is responsible for auditing the flow of information daily. If you let sleeping dogs lie as in this case, your data will be a burden. Don’t let it come to this stage say Salesforce consulting partners

  2. Keep your tech stack simple. A simple tech stack is a key to a clean system and clean data confirm Salesforce consulting partners. With the use of software tools, your transfer processes are relatively clean and the chances of duplicate data are minimized a fair bit.  API-led integration tools provide flexible methods to remove speed breakers and have a lean–mean digital warehouse.

  3. Everyone needs to be informed of their responsibility toward data cleansing. It's everyone’s responsibility. If they are taught and held responsible for the same, the company will see the data quality issue being addressed at the beginning stages. Entry or updating of data correctly needs to be a daily issue. Training of all staffers on the high standards of data in your company needs to start from when they join the firm, reinforced every few months. Salesforce consulting partners are useful for this as well.

  4. Delete the data your company does not need. This is a must-emphasize Salesforce consulting partners. It cannot be avoided. It helps the company to be the lean & mean data machine that I mentioned above. The data that is outdated and inaccurate needs to be weeded out say Salesforce consulting partners.  This applies to partial or incomplete information stored in Salesforce or various systems.

  5. Automate. 21st century is also the age of automation according to Salesforce consulting partners. Bring in automation tools and do everyone a big favour. A company can save valuable time that would have been wasted in manual processing, plus completing complicated tasks such as validation.

  6. Keep abreast of the latest updates and releases. It's important to know what’s the latest with Salesforce so that your org is up to date always and the data is not lost in outdated systems.
