SMALL BUSINESSES NEED TO BE TECH SAVVY

Is your business “future ready”, “future proof” or “prepared for the future”? What do we mean by these terms? In essence, it means getting your business, however small, of any nature, ready to face the future. If the pandemic of 2020 has taught anything to us, it is that businesses need to keep evolving with time. Companies that have automated their business processes are stronger & resilient.  Having a mobile app, video conferencing facility, CRM, a website with chat, and order facility are just some of the tech tools one must have and be familiar with.  Like the skin doctor in Alaknanda, who stayed afloat like other health specialists by offering video consultations and prescriptions by WhatsApp, collecting payment using e-wallets like Paytm. He was equipped as per his needs and managed to do well despite the lockdown of many months earlier this summer.  

Having all the right tech tools along with the comfort level of using them by most of the employees are the way to go. The higher the adoption rate by the company employees the better the chances of thriving in the digital age. The reliance on tech will “future proof” the company to adapt as per the evolving needs. However, we must say that being tech savvy is not a one-time project.  A business needs to constantly keep up with the times and bring in new technologies such as cloud-based services, and so on. 

So,if you want to be like other small businesses who are “woke” to the needs of being tech savvy, be it cloud solutions, infrastructure hardware, and software, and security now is the time to make a road map for it. Hunker down, consult others, get your act and budget together to be prepared for all eventualities.  Tech and digital tools will give you the advantage you need to thrive in unusual situations and retain your loyal customer base.
